The award winning
Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok has added three more accolades to their list
of prestigious recognition, two from top famous travel magazine in the
United States and the other from Germany.
The hotel was voted one of the World’s Best Places to Stay – Asia,
Australia and Pacific Nations in the 2006 “Gold List” by readers of Conde’
Nast Traveler Magazine (US). The 12th annual “Gold List” was published in
the magazine’s January 2006 issue and features the world’s best hotels,
resorts and cruise lines as selected by subscribers.
Another US magazine that voted Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok as one of “T+L
500 – Best Hotels in the World” is Travel+Leisure Magazine. The results,
published in January 2006 issue, are based upon the 2005 survey, in which a
select group of subscribers evaluated hotels on five characteristics: rooms
and facilities, location, service, restaurants and food, and value.
Last but not least, the hotel ranked second “Best Hotel Worldwide” by
Business Traveller (Germany). Business Traveller is one of the Germany’s
largest travel publication which appears four times per year. The “Best
Hotel Worldwide” result was determined by the votes of 2,000 magazine’s
readership of frequent travellers based mainly in Germany. They were asked
to rate hotels according to various criteria such as service, rooms and
facilities, dining and location. Results were compiled and published in the
January 2006 issue of Business Traveller.
“It is indeed our pleasure to start the year with pleasant news, as being
acknowledged as one of the best hotels in the world by these top three
famous travel magazines globally known to both business and travel circles.
These awards are significant and meaningful for us to penetrate to European
market, the United States and Germany, especially. We will continue to do
our utmost to exceed customers’ expectations in all market segments.” said
Mr. Gerard Sintes, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.
