The
singer of hits such as "When You Say Nothing at All" arrived in Phuket
Saturday for two days of video shoots highlighting the parts of the island
that were spared the tsunami's wrath, Bangkok's The Nation newspaper
reported.
The video is part of a campaign by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to
lure holidaymakers back to the Andaman coast, where nearly 5,400 people were
killed when the deadly waves struck on December 26.
"We should get it out of our heads what happened here and come back, and
make it the place it was before. It's a magical place," Keating said in the
Bangkok Post newspaper.
Keating is also filming segments to be broadcast during the MTV Asia Aid
event Thursday in Bangkok, featuring stars like Americans Alicia Keys and
Kelly Clarkson, Taiwanese rhythm and blues singer Jay Chou and Thailand's
Tata Young. |
