Both newly renovated and upgraded, Casuarina Hut and La Trattoria of Dusit
Laguna Resort, Phuket re-opened recently right on time for the return influx
of travelers to Phuket during the high season.
 The
new Casuarina Hut, located on the south wing of Dusit Laguna Resort’s garden
area overlooking Bang Tao Beach, is an informal restaurant which is split
into an outdoor area on the beach for diners to soak in the fresh, sea air,
the cozy lounge for a relaxing tête-a-tête, and the dining and bar/pub
indoor areas providing air-conditioned comfort. The superbly revised menu,
available for lunch and dinner, offers succulent selections from the sea as
well as the freshwater.
In addition to the informal, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that is
the essence of most resort seafood restaurants, the Casuarina Hut can also
be transfigured into a meeting venue. Meeting organizers can hold meetings
in theatre style (for up to 160 persons), classroom (50 persons), or U-shape
(36 persons) for participants wishing to conduct discussions outside of the
rigid boardroom atmosphere.
The Casuarina Hut provides the only meeting venue on the beach; a
definite departure from the norm. Long known to Phuket residents and guests
of Dusit Laguna Resort for serving the finest Italian cuisine, La Trattoria
restaurant is stylish and flawless, yet accessible and fun. La Trattoria
serves Italian food firmly rooted in the best Italian traditions, but
delivered with a new twist in a menu mix of classical popular Italian fare
and adventurous creative Italian cooking spree.
The restaurant is located beside the garden’s pool, seating 100 diners
inside and 35 a! fresco. The new La Trattoria is conducive to the guest’s
dining pleasure. Soft-colour tones of off-white walls and terracotta floor
tiles, natural white and blue light shades on the ceiling, cream-coloured
place mats and napkins, and hand- blown light blue and white water glasses
ensure that an ambience of warmth and calm is maintained. By day, the place
is light and fresh; by night, it’s sensuous and intimate. The overall look
is crisp and sharp, yet with a homely and serene feeling.
